Scenario : Earlier, the customer rumored that they might not need the additional manpower for the upcoming event and they would be releasing the news soon. At 1400hr, Mr Y heard abt the news and sms-ed the key stuff of the other department to keep them informed.
At about 1430hr, The official news was released while Mr Y was attending another meeting.
By the time he received the update (after the meeting), he immediately send the sms to the other department heads in case they never receive it.
Unfortunately, this is what he got in reply from Mr X, one of the department Head.
So, What will you do if you are Mr Y?
This is the SMS conversation.......
Mr Y, 1628hrs : Sirs, wef from today 1700hr, there is no need to standby for the event. Your stuff have been informed. FYI.
Mr X: I sent the email to your department at 1450hr, now then you tell me?
Mr Y: Sir, this is a mass sms to you and several department heads. I have already known the info and informed your stuff at 1400hr, cheers.
Mr X : The instruction from HQ was received at 1437hr in my email, if ur department is really useful, I should have received pre cursor before that, I don't need delay info, not useful for my department at all. Pls exclude me in such SMS if it is outdated. Thanks
Mr Y : Ok Sir, will exclude your department from my sms list in the future! Best Regards
Mr X : This is a very poor attitude of you, I just said I don;t need outdated info that's all. When I receive the email, I realized your department is not in the circulation, almost immediately, i sent to you and your stuff, so that your department is kept abreast of the situation at a timely manner, and I expect your department to do likewise for us. Hope you change your attitude, you are now a senior management.
Mr Y : Yes Sir!
